You are an HR professional, C-Level Exec, Board Member, Team/Group Leader, or Manager who influences, manages and/or supports employees in a corporations, firm, not-for-profit, or entrepreneurial venture looking for executive coaching for an individual, group of individuals, or teams. This person or group must take things to the next level, be more strategic. Managing up and across company lines, and leading others is crucial for success. Expertise is no longer enough. They must excel with and through others. They’re smart but not when it comes to people dynamics or maybe work flow. Here’s how executive coaching works:
Executive Coaching Services
Custom Designed Executive Coaching Programs: These can be a 3- 6 month engagements for individuals or team-focused 1-5 day programs.
Initial Strategy Consultation: Maybe you have identified an individual or team, have considered or talked about coaching, but are not sure what you need or exactly what approach you should take. An in-person or telephone strategy session will help you clarify the issues and identify options.
Individual programs include…
Initial consultation with supervisor or HR professional to determine needs and desired outcome.
Meeting with the person to be coached to describe the program, engage, answer questions, establish a schedule, and achieve buy-in.
Ramp-up packet (overview of client’s work history, exploration of current situation’s successes and challenges, values, goals, and aspirations) completed by the person to be coached that includes an overview of the administration, interpretation, and feedback for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step II.
Initial meeting with coaching client. Discussion of the ramp-up packet contents, feedback from the MBTI, establishing of goals and timeline. Half day.
Note: If a 360 instrument had been administered internally, interpretation, feedback, and goal setting around the information would occur at this time. If a 360 survey is called for but not available internally, ExecutiveCoachNY can provide this service.
Coaching Sessions: Onsite or in ExecutiveCoachNY’s office, coaching sessions are scheduled for approximately one hour. They occur two to three times per month over a six-month period, depending on the needs of the client and the design of the coaching program.
Client, Supervisor, Coach Three-Way Meetings: Generally three one-hour meetings during a six-month engagement. First meeting occurs soon after client’s initial coaching session, then mid-program, and finally at the coaching program’s completion. Meetings are powerful in that they clarify misconceptions and set goals, establish agreement and buy-in among the client, supervisor, and coach, as well as provide a forum for dialogue rarely seen in day-to-day employee/supervisor interactions. Final session assures continuity of the program after sessions are completed.
Coaching Services for Individuals
You are a leader, manager, professional, established entrepreneur and looking to advance and expand your career, become better at leading and managing people and workflow. You want to be more strategic than tactical. Possibly you’ve gotten some feedback on a performance evaluation, 360, or in a casual conversation that made you think, “I should do something about this.” But what? You may be in a position where talking out some of the day-to-day challenges you’re dealing with can’t be discussed safely or appropriately with anyone in your workplace. You are looking for a confidential, supportive environment where an honest discussion and complex strategy can occur. Maybe you are looking to make a career transition or job change or receiving outside offers you’re not sure about, or your work/life balance is out of whack and something has to give. Here’s what the coaching services at ExecutiveCoachNY can offer.
Complimentary Meet and Greet Session: This is an opportunity for us to discuss what is going on and your goals and aspirations. It can take place in-person in my Manhattan office or on the phone. Plan on half an hour.
Ramp-up Packet: Before we meet for a first session a comprehensive, online, ramp-up packet is sent to you. I want to know about your present career situation, your past experiences and, of course, what you want for the future. Included in this packet is the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator Step II, which you take online and then is administered and interpreted by me and shared with you.
Individual Coaching Sessions: Most initial coaching engagements are for three months. This represents 3 sessions per month for ninety days for a total of 9 sessions. We meet for an hour either in my Midtown Manhattan office or on the telephone. Goals and objectives, with measurements and timelines, are determined, acted upon, and monitored weekly. Coaching is goal-focused and comes from your agenda. It’s conversational in nature and action oriented. We get results.
After the initial three month commitment, many clients choose to continue with coaching three times per month or slightly less. My clients have stayed in coaching for many years as they have risen in responsibility and challenges. Coaching provides a valuable, objective, yet supportive professional connection rarely seen in places of employment.
